How to watch the US Olympic Team track and field trials in Eugene

The track and field team trials kicked off Friday, June 21 and will run through Sunday, June 30.

EUGENE, Ore. — The 2024 U.S. Olympic Team track and field trials have returned to Eugene. The country's greatest track athletes will compete to qualify for a spot on Team USA for the Paris Olympics.

For the eighth time, the track and field team trials will be held at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus. The first meet happened in 1972, and the last one was held in 2021, rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, prior to the Tokyo Olympics.

KGW will be covering the trials both on the air and online, and will carry many of the events on TV.

When are the track and field team trials?

Track and field athletes from the Pacific Northwest to watch

Dozens of track athletes with local ties are seeking a spot in the Paris Olympics. While not a full list, here are some of the stars KGW is tracking:

Ryan Crouser

Olympian and Sam Barlow High School graduate Ryan Crouser will try to go for his third consecutive medal in the Paris Olympics. Crouser earned gold medals in men's shot put in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He became a world-record holder in June 2021 at the trials in Eugene when he threw 76 feet, 8 1/4 inches.

Raevyn Rogers

Olympian Raevyn Rogers won bronze in the women's 800-meter final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Rodgers was a star runner at the University of Oregon, and she trains in Portland.

Cole Hocker

Olympian and University of Portland graduate Cole Hocker finished sixth in the men's 1,500-meter at the Tokyo Olympic Games. He won the men's 1,500-meter at the 2021 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. 

Woody Kinkaid

Olympian Woody Kinkaid is a two-time national champion in the 10,000-meter. The University of Portland graduate has held the North American indoor record in the 5,000-meter (12:51.61) since 2023. During the trials ahead of the Tokyo Olympics, Kinkaid won gold in the men's 10,000-meter and bronze in the men's 5,000-meter.

Jenna Prandini

Two-time Olympian Jenna Prandini won silver in the women's 4 x 100-meter relay in Tokyo. She also competed in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Prandini is an NCAA champion and an eight-time All-American. 

Jaida Ross

Oregon Ducks thrower Jaida Ross broke the collegiate record in the shot put with a throw of 65 feet, 7 3/4 inches, becoming the first woman at the University of Oregon to win an NCAA title in the shot put. The U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches' Association recently named Ross the national women's field athlete of the year. She attended North Medford High School before committing to the University of Oregon.
