PORTLAND, Oregon — Oregon Olympian Ryan Crouser will try to go for his third consecutive medal in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Sam Barlow High School graduate and fellow Olympian Sunny Choi appeared on TODAY Wednesday morning, which marked 100 days out from the Paris Olympics. Crouser shared how he is feeling leading up to the Games.

"I’m very excited for it," Crouser said. "For me, it’s an opportunity to be the first person ever to win three consecutive gold medals in the shot put."

Crouser earned gold medals in men's shot put in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

During the interview on TODAY, Crouser said he is feeling a little bit more pressure to take home a medal this time around.

"If nothing else, just me personally knowing that the possibility’s there and have a bit of a target on my back in the sport simply because there’s been a select number that have won two, no one’s ever won three," Crouser said.

Crouser became a world-record holder in June 2021 at the U.S. Olympic trials in Eugene when he threw 76 feet, 8 1/4 inches.

On Wednesday, Crouser and Choi also revealed a first look at Nike's official podium outfits for Team USA. The Oregon-based sportswear company will also provide kits for the track and field teams of Canada, China, Kenya, Germany and Uganda.

"It’s an upgrade over our past medal ceremony attire," Crouser said. "My favorite part, by far, is the magnetic zipper."

Carson Daly joked that the outfit made Crouser look like an astronaut.

"You have like a Apollo feel to you with the American flag there,” Daly said, pointing to the American flag on one of Crouser’s shoulders.

"I threw it on, and a little bit futuristic, a little astronaut. Ready to go to the moon," Crouser replied.

The U.S. Olympic Track and Field team trials will be held at Hayward Field from June 21-30. The Paris Olympics run July 26-Aug. 11.
