PORTLAND, Ore. — A man died Monday night after he was struck by two vehicles in Northeast Portland, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) reported. The crash happened at around 6:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Gertz Road.
Monday night's fatal crash marks the third traffic fatality in Portland, all pedestrians, since Sunday afternoon. There have been seven traffic deaths this year in the city, five involving pedestrians.
According to police, both drivers stayed at the scene after Monday's crash and are cooperating with the investigation. Police did not report any arrests or citations.
Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was closed between Columbia Boulevard and Marine Drive for several hours while PPB investigators processed the scene and collected evidence.
