OREGON, USA — Oregonians who receive benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) could be eligible to replace any foods lost due to last week's winter storms, which knocked out power to hundreds of thousands at their peak.

If any foods purchased with SNAP benefits were lost or disposed of for being unsafe to eat due to the recent storms, flooding, power outages or fire, households have 10 days to request that replacement benefits be issued for the cost of the food.
Replacement benefits can be requested by:
- Visiting a local office. Find offices here.
- Calling 800-699-9075
- Emailing a form to oregon.benefits@odhsoha.oregon.gov
The maximum amount that can be reimbursed is the normal monthly benefit for the household.
"We know that so many Oregonians are facing crises right now and when you're already facing food insecurity, additional disruptions like this can be really demoralizing," said Jacki Ward Kehrwald, communications lead at Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon. "We want people to know that you don't have to go at it alone."
