PORTLAND, Ore. — A bicyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle in the Parkrose neighborhood in Northeast Portland. It was the second fatal bicycle crash Monday morning.
Around 9 a.m., police responded to reports of a crash around Northeast 105th Avenue and Northeast Marx Street. Responding medics pronounced the male cyclist dead at the scene. The driver remained and is cooperating with the investigation, Portland police said.
The streets around Northeast 105th Avenue and Northeast Marx Street will be closed during the investigation.
Earlier Monday morning, around 2:37 a.m., a vehicle collided with a bicyclist near the intersection of Northeast 128th Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street. The bicyclist, a man, was killed in the collision. The driver of the vehicle took off, Portland police said.
