SANDY, Ore. —

A natural hot springs that was closed down due to the spread of a wildfire is set to reopen this weekend.

Mount Hood National Forest and Bagby Preservation announced Thursday that Bagby Hot Springs and Campground will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday. It was forced to close after a lightning strike sparked the Sandstone Fire on Aug. 5.

In a statement, Mount Hood National Forest said the Sandstone Fire is currently 75% contained and has burned 702 acres. It spread to 1.5 miles north of the Bagby Trailhead, but the hot springs were not affected.

There will still be a fire closure area, but Forest Road 70 will also reopen Saturday morning.
