PORTLAND, Ore. — Cases of COVID-19, a new strain of coronavirus, began popping up in the United States in January. The first case in Oregon was reported on Feb. 28.

- The Oregon Health Authority is now releasing the number of coronavirus cases in each of Oregon’s ZIP codes. Learn more
- Oregon's first known coronavirus patient has been discharged from the hospital. Learn more
6 p.m.
- A Southeast Portland nursing home where at least 28 people have died of COVID-19 has been shut down by the state for the time being. The Department of Human Services issued an emergency suspension of Healthcare at Foster Creek's license to operate a nursing facility after at least 117 people there tested positive. Learn more
4:30 p.m.
- The Oregon Health Authority announced an additional 72 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state and eight presumptive cases. OHA also announced today that four more people have died from the virus. Learn more
- A Salem salon could face thousands of dollars in fines for reopening amid the pandemic. The owner said the shutdown was hurting her and her family financially. Learn more
- Oregon's Department of Health and Human Services says its has seen a reduction in reports of elder abuse. Over a six-week period ending April 24, calls reporting abuse of older adults and those with disabilities were down 23% over the same time a year ago and less call volume isn't necessarily a good thing. 1 p.m.
- Oregon Gov. Kate Brown announced the opening of some state parks and outdoor recreation areas across the state. Coastal areas, however, will remain closed for now, as well as parks and recreation sites in the Columbia River Gorge. Learn more

- The official version of the Portland World Naked Bike Ride, scheduled for June 27, has been canceled due to concerns over spreading COVID-19. Organizers said while there will be no official start time and location, enthusiasts should still head out on their own if they wish. Learn more
