PORTLAND, Ore. — A high school teacher in Troutdale was sentenced to 10 years in prison for traveling to Bend to meet a 15-year-old girl he met online.
27-year-old Edward Hernandez-Corchado was a social studies teacher at Reynolds High School when he was arrested following an investigation into online sexual predators.

According to court documents, in November 2022, a police officer from Bend set up a Snapchat account to pose as a 15-year-old child. During the investigation, Hernandez-Corchado shared "sexually explicit communication" and arranged a plan to meet the child at a Target in Bend, so he could take them to a hotel.
On November 11, 2022, Hernandez-Corchado traveled to Bend to meet the child and was intercepted and arrested by law enforcement. Following his arrest, Hernandez-Corchado admitted he had frequent sexually explicit communications with underage girls online, possessed child pornography and had previously meet and engaged in sexual conduct with two minors in Salem, according to the news release.
A federal grand jury later indicted Hernandez-Corchado with attempted coercion and enticement of a minor. In early January, he pleaded guilty.
Hernandez-Corchado has been sentenced to 120 months, or 10 years, in prison and 10 years of supervised release.
