PORTLAND, Ore. — A suspect has been arrested and charged with murder after a man was found dead on the sidewalk in Northeast Portland.
On Tuesday, Portland police arrested 27-year-old Cresencio Flores, from Portland. Flores was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
On July 28, at 6:02 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots fired near Northeast 6th Avenue and Northeast Holladay Street in the Lloyd District. When they arrived, they found a man, 45-year-old Jacob Forrest, dead on the sidewalk. Police said the suspect had left the scene before their arrival, and no arrests were made at that time.
The medical examiner later confirmed that Forrest's cause of death was homicide by gunshot wounds.
Forrest’s family has been notified of Flores's arrest, the Portland Police Bureau said.
