Suspect arrested for fatal January shooting in Southwest Portland

Police found Joshua Page shot in a parking lot on Jan. 13. He was hospitalized, but died from his injuries three days later.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland police have arrested a suspect in the Jan. 13 shooting that killed 35-year-old Joshua Page, according to a news release from the Portland Police Bureau.

PPB homicide detectives arrested 19-year-old Luis Fernando Gutierrez-Medina on Wednesday and lodged him on Multnomah County jail on a charge of first-degree manslaughter, police said. The Washington County Sheriff's office, U.S. Attorney's Office of Oregon and the FBI assisted in the arrest.

The news release did not include any new details about the circumstances of the shooting or how investigators landed on Gutierrez-Medina as a suspect.

Page was found in a business parking lot off of Southwest Capitol Highway in the Hillsdale Neighborhood after police responded to a report of a shooting at around 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 13. He was still alive at the time, and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
