PORTLAND, Ore. — No one was hurt in a shooting outside Roosevelt High School early Tuesday afternoon, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB). Several vehicles were damaged.

Officers responded just after noon to the school on North Central Street. According to PPB, they determined that someone had fired a gun from North Central near the Roosevelt baseball field.

One car had been hit by gunfire, and another car looked to have been hit by the suspect's vehicle while driving away from the scene. There were no reports of anyone being hit by gunfire.

PPB's Enhanced Community Safety Team, one of two gun violence teams operated by the agency, was notified.

Last school year, Portland Public Schools grappled with a rash of shootings near school campuses, particularly high schools. Several of those shootings near schools resulted in students being injured. Thus far, this year has not seen a repeat of that violence.

In March 2023, three young men were gunned down near University Park in North Portland, including 19-year-old Roosevelt High School senior Isaac Daudi.

This is a developing story and may be updated with more details as they emerge.
