PORTLAND, Ore. — A 24-year-old man was shot and killed on a TriMet MAX platform last Thursday in Portland. Shortly after, a suspect was booked on murder charges.
On Tuesday, Portland police identified the man killed as Taysean Nash. The Medical Examiner said Nash died from a gunshot wound.
“He touched many lives and had friends from all walks of life,” Nash’s mother said in a news release. “He loved and protected ALL of his siblings no matter what. And he is VERY LOVED by many.”
At around 7:26 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, Portland police responded to reports of person shot at a TriMet MAX platform at Northeast 148th Avenue and East Burnside Street in the Hazelwood neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found a man dead at the scene.
Police detained 42-year-old Felix Angelo Juarez-Perez at the scene and later charged him with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
