PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting Thursday evening at a TriMet MAX platform that left one man dead.
Felix Angelo Juarez-Perez, 42, was booked in Multnomah County jail on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon, according to a news release Friday morning from the Portland Police Bureau.
At around 7:26 p.m. on Thursday, Portland police responded to reports of person shot at a TriMet MAX platform at Northeast 148th Avenue and East Burnside Street in the Hazelwood neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found a man dead at the scene.
Police initially said a person has been detained as part of the investigation, and Friday's news release confirmed the detained person was Juarez-Perez.
On Tuesday, Portland police identified the man killed as 24-year-old Taysean Nash. The Medical Examiner said Nash died from a gunshot wound.
