PORTLAND, Oregon — Two indie comics publishers, IT'S ALIVE and Black Mask Studios are doing their part to help your local comic shop.

After the shaking news of Diamond Comic Distributors announced all product shipments will be halted, local comic book shops are working harder than ever. Many have closed their doors as people stay inside to flatten the curve of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus.

In response, Black Mask Studios announced on Twitter that if you mention your local comic book shop when you order from its website that half of your order's total will go to your local shop.

IT'S ALIVE has followed suit if you order from its site.

Many local shops in the Portland area are offering mail-order comics and some are still offering curbside pickup to promote social distancing to protect themselves and customers from COVID-19. Reach out to your local shop on social media or give them a call to see how you can support them in these unprecedented times.

Here are some tips too on how to help out your local shops.

Here is information about a GoFundMe set up by Miami-based comic publisher Mad Cave Studios to help out US comic shops.
