PORTLAND, Ore. — Daisy Caballero is a multi-skilled journalist and weather forecaster for KGW News. She joined the team July of 2022.
Before coming to Portland, Daisy was reporting and weather anchoring in Redding, California for a little over two year at KRCR. There she covered the historic Dixie Fire, the explosive Sherri Papini case and other national headline stories.
Oregon is home for Daisy. She was born and raised in the small coastal town of Coos Bay, Oregon where she enjoys spending time at the beach with her family and her two dogs, Kai and Louie. She says it was always her dream to live in Portland— she loves the big city feel.
Daisy’s love for journalism started at a very young age but really took off in high school. She attended Marshfield High where she hosted her own morning talk show on 91.3 FM, a student-run radio station, for three years called The Morning Kazaam. After graduating in 2016, she went on to attend Southwestern Oregon Community College and served as the sports sideline reporter for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams.
She later attended the University of Oregon and received her Bachelor’s degree in 2019. She majored in Mass Communications and Journalism.
In her spare time, she enjoys snowboarding, attending concerts, trying new food places, spending time with her two pups outdoors and relaxing by the breathtaking Oregon beaches.
