First 80 degree temperature of 2024

Possible record high temperatures Friday

PORTLAND, Oregon — Portland will likely reach 80 degrees this afternoon, becoming the warmest day of 2024 to date.   East winds develop to help the warming, including along the coast.

Friday will be even warmer as temperatures may reach 90-degrees, which would be a record for May 10. We’ll still be near 90-degrees Saturday even as the east winds weaken.

Cooler coastal air seeps inland Sunday, cooling off Mother’s Day enough to keep highs around 80-degrees.  The coast will see sunny 80s Friday, cool-off into low clouds and 60s for the Sunday forecast.

The sunshine continues next week, as high temperatures settle back into the 70s.
