April to end with showers, cool temperatures

Snow covered Cascade passes this morning

PORTLAND, Oregon — A low pressure center this morning and a 2nd low center Tuesday morning will bring rain at times to begin the week.  Showers will be fewer in numbers this afternoon.  Tuesday's forecast brings a threat of thunderstorms.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Cascades through 2:00 pm today and may be re-issued Tuesday as snow levels hold near 3,000 feet.  Daytime temps will bring rising pass level temps for improving travel.  Timberline could see more than 8" of snowfall, while pass elevations could see 4-6" of snow accumulate.

Wednesday brings dry weather, but showers return Thursday, followed by a dry and warmer Friday.
