PORTLAND, Ore. — KGW is issuing Weather Impact Alert Days for Friday and Saturday during Labor Day weekend due to high temperatures on both days expected to reach at least the mid-90s. Parts of the Willamette Valley could near 100 degrees on Saturday.
A strong ridge of high pressure that developed on Thursday will send temperatures well above average for this time of the year, but so far, not setting a record. Highs will be in the low 90s, with the hottest parts of the heat wave forecasted for Friday and Saturday.
On Friday and Saturday, temperatures are expected to be in the mid- to upper 90s.
On Sunday, Sept. 1, temperatures will stay around 90 degrees, then begin to cool off on Labor Day. There's a slight chance of showers on Monday, Sept. 2.

The hottest days are expected to be Friday and Saturday. Temperatures may reach 90 degrees between noon and 1 p.m. on Friday, and likely an hour or two earlier than that on Saturday.

The forecast calls for a high of 96 degrees on Friday and 98 degrees on Saturday.
