PORTLAND, Ore. — KGW has issued a Weather Impact Alert Day for Wednesday due to breezy wind and sloppy conditions from steady rain.
Rain totals Tuesday night reached two inches in Tillamook, according to KGW meteorologist Rod Hill, and the valley may reach an inch through mid-morning.
Rain is expected to turn into showers on Wednesday and there's a chance of thunderstorms, particularly at along the Oregon Coast, Hill said. It's also possible that a funnel cloud or a waterspout spins up, according to Hill.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a High Wind Warning for the Oregon Coast and a Wind Advisory for the Interstate 5 corridor for Tuesday through early Wednesday morning, but both have been canceled. However, people on the coast are dealing with the impact of the stormy weather. A small power outage was reported in Cannon Beach early Wednesday morning due to a downed power line and tree, according to Cannon Beach Fire. Meanwhile, the U.S. Coast Guard closed all river bars in the state except for the Columbia River because of rough surf conditions.
