SEASIDE, Ore. — Stormy weather is bringing dangerous waves along the Oregon coast as we start to see more typical fall weather move in over the next few days.
A high surf advisory is in effect until late Thursday night, with the surf advisory there’s an increase chance for sneaker waves too.
Our KGW crew saw high waves, rain and very windy conditions most of the day.
Despite the stormy conditions people were still out watching the waves crash along the beach.
"I got my gloves and my jacket, a towel and I have a book because I love it," said Susan England who is visiting from Utah.
One family saw first hand how quickly conditions can change. The Webster family was visiting Seaside from Washington, when a big wave knocked down the family of four as they were playing on the beach.
"It was really scary like I had to get my kids out of the water. They were all struggling," said Jolene Webster.
Stormy conditions are expected to continue the weekend.
