PORTLAND, Ore. — When snow is expected to fall in the Portland metro area, the Oregon coast range and the Cascade Mountains, not everyone may see sticking snow. Whether or not it covers the ground and how much accumulates may depend on the elevation of where you live.
The Portland metro area in particular is filled with both a variety of hill sizes and flatter ground, so unless you happen to be a topography expert, it might be difficult to know the exact elevation of your neighborhood.
