PORTLAND, Ore. — In a wild weather day across Oregon, a thunderstorm rumbled through the Portland metro area Saturday afternoon.
The storm led to downed trees in some areas and power outages in others.
The National Weather Service said its survey team found straight-line wind damage corresponding to 45-55 mph gusts, but no evidence of a tornado.
Videos and photos from people throughout the Portland metro area showed hail, thunder, lightning, broad cloud rotation, powerful winds and heavy rain.
