PORTLAND, Ore. -- A series of earthquakes struck off the coast of Oregon on Saturday morning.
There were eight quakes in total, according to the United States Geological Survey. The first quake hit at 5:43 a.m. and the most recent one was at 7:26 a.m.
The quakes struck in the same general area, about 220 miles off the coast of Newport. They ranged in magnitude from 3.2 as the weakest to a pair of quakes that reached a 5.4 magnitude.
