PORTLAND, Ore. — Travelers arriving at Portland International Airport (PDX) have a new place to catch an Uber, Lyft or taxi.
As of Oct. 24, travelers are guided via their ride-hailing apps and airport signage to the new location on the first floor of the short-term parking on Island 2, outside the arrivals level.
To avoid rainy weather and crowded crosswalks, travelers can take the tunnel underneath the roadway to directly reach the designated pick-up areas for Uber, Lyft, Wingz and taxis.

Travelers taking an Uber, Lyft, taxi or other ride-booking service to meet their flight will still be dropped off outside the terminal on the Departures level.
The new "Transportation Plaza" will reduce traffic on the main roadway, which is clogged with nearly 1 million cars per year, according to the Port of Portland. In doing so, air quality will be improved by reducing emissions from idling cars, they said.
This is the latest in a series of updates to the Portland International Airport, including adding a new MAX Red Line and designated spot for rental cars last year.
