PORTLAND, Ore. — It's official: Portland International Airport's (PDX) new main terminal is open, and with it comes the first wave of new shops, restaurants, bars and cafes visitors can experience.
A second group of restaurants and shops will make their debut in 2026 when the final phase of the new main terminal opens. In the meantime, several of those shops have set up temporary kiosks until their new homes are ready for them.
Here's a breakdown of all the new places open to eat, drink and shop now at PDX:
Pre-security eats, drinks & shops
With the opening of the new main terminal, pre-security shopping and dining has returned to Portland airport that people can enjoy — no ticket required.
Portland Coffee Roasters
Portland Coffee Roasters is opening two new locations at PDX: one will be available pre-security when visitors first walk in; the other is a new café opening in 2026. Until then, the coffee shop will be serving beverages at a kiosk in the North Hall past security, next door to Portland Gear.
Loyal Legion
Up on a mezzanine level overlooking the new main terminal is Loyal Legion. The beer hall is making its PDX debut with over 90 Oregon brews on tap, keeping it local, along with a speakeasy, a TV room and a kids play area.
Orox Leather Company
The family-owned leather shop combines Oaxacan craftmanship with a Portland flair. It can be found behind ticketing in the new market hall.
Missionary Chocolates
Portland-based Missionary Chocolates serves-up dairy free chocolate truffles and snacks. The new shop can be found just after ticketing in the new market hall.
The Country Cat
The Country Cat deli and market returns to PDX. The menu features classic deli sandwiches and burgers with a Northwest flair and local ingredients — and it has breakfast. It can be found in the new market hall when visitors walk in.
Hello From Portland
The Portland-themed gift shop filled with apparel, souvenirs, food and treats showcases local Black, minority, women and LGBTQ makers. The gift shop is located behind ticketing in the market hall.
Paper Epiphanies (Piph)
PiPH is a card, art and gift brand that celebrates "the wild rebellion" of women, according to their website. The new gift store is located in the market hall behind ticketing.
Post-security shops & dining
Stumptown Coffee Roasters
Stumptown Coffee Roasters opens in the South Hall immediately after the Concourse B and C security checkpoint, perfectly placed for a caffeinated boost.
Powell's Books (kiosk)
Powell's Books makes its return to PDX after leaving during the COVID-19 pandemic. The famed bookseller will be operating out of a kiosk in the South Hall, immediately after the Concourse B and C security checkpoint, until its new home completes in phase two of the main terminal construction.
Straightaway (kiosk)
The craft can cocktail bar makes its Portland airport debut in a kiosk in the South Hall until the main terminal fully completes in 2026.
Pendleton
Pendleton has been a staple at PDX selling wool clothing and gifts. With the new terminal opening, the shop opens in its new digs in the North Hall, immediately after Concourse C and E security checkpoints.
Sizzle Pie
The popular Portland pizzeria opens in the North Hall, next door to Pendleton and Blue Star. It serves up hot ready-to-go slices with options for everyone from omnivore, vegetarian to vegan.
Grassa
Grassa opens at PDX for the first-time with its freshly made pasta. It can be found in the North Hall near Sizzle Pie.
Blue Star
Blue Star doughnuts return to the Portland airport, and this time, it will be serving up freshly made donuts straight from the shop. It can be found in the North Hall next to Sizzle Pie.
Freeland Spirits (kiosk)
Portland's women-owned, women-run distillery is opening a spirit counter at the Portland airport with farm-to-still gins, whiskies and cocktails. Its kiosk can be found in the North Hall until its permanent home completes in phase two of the main terminal's construction.
Portland Gear (kiosk)
Portland Gear makes its debut at PDX with a kiosk in the North Hall until its new home opens in phase two of construction. The apparel shop features locally printed T-shirts, caps and backpacks.
Steven Smith Teamaker (kiosk)
The gift shop made for tea-lovers offers a variety of choices from around the world, including Pacific Northwest herbs. The shop will be operating out a kiosk in the North Hall until phase two construction is complete.
Opening later
Capers Bistro: The wine bar is expected to open in the fall. It will also have grab-go sandwiches and snacks.
Oven and Shaker: The popular pizza bar and restaurant is expected to open its new Portland airport location in the fall. Once open, the South Hall is surely to be aloft with the smells of their wood-fired pizza.
Kure Superfood: The cold-pressed juice, smoothie and grain bowl bar is set to open in the South Hall in 2026 when phase two construction is complete.
Lola's Cafe: Lake Oswego's beloved café is coming to the Portland airport's North Hall in 2026, where it will be offering breakfast and deli meals.
Columbia Sportswear: One of Portland's best-known outfitters will have a kiosk opening in late 2024 in the south hall, until its home base completes in phase two of the main terminal construction.
Pilot House Distilling: Astoria's best-known distillery is expected to open in the South Hall in 2026, where it will serve up cocktails and local seafood.
