PORTLAND, Ore. — An Alaska Airlines flight made an emergency landing at the Portland International Airport (PDX) Sunday morning after hitting a bird, according to the Port of Portland.

At around 7:50 a.m. on Sunday, Alaska Airlines Flight 300 from Portland, Oregon to Orlando, Florida had just departed when the crew reported that the plane hit a bird, the Port of Portland said.

The Port of Portland also said that an emergency was declared out of an abundance of caution, and the plane returned to the gate.
