PORTLAND, Ore. — A traffic signal outage throughout downtown Portland is impacting traffic Monday morning, including MAX trains and buses, TriMet reported.

MAX Blue and Red line trains are experiencing delays and Green, Orange and Yellow lines are disrupted. TriMet said shuttle buses are helping to move riders.

"MAX Orange and Yellow lines are disrupted through downtown Portland due to traffic signals being out, while MAX Green Line is being detoured in downtown. Riders on those lines should also expect delays," TriMet said in a news release. "MAX Blue and Red lines are experiencing some delays. Riders will want to plan an extra 15 minutes for their trips on those lines."

Signal outages at intersections are causing minor delays for TriMet buses.

"Buses are traveling more slowly along Southwest 5th and 6th Avenues due to the traffic signals being dark and having to treat intersections as four way stops. That will affect travel times as well and may impact service outside of downtown," TriMet said.

Drivers should treat intersections where signals are dark as four-way stops, TriMet said.
