PORTLAND, Ore. — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Southeast Powell Boulevard and 160th Avenue Saturday evening.
Portland police responded at 7:04 p.m. to find a person deceased in the roadway. According to witnesses, the person was struck by a vehicle and the driver took off.
Officers were not immediately able to track down a suspect.
As of 9 p.m., Southeast Powell Boulevard remains closed between Southeast 160th Avenue and 162nd avenues.
This is the eighth fatal crash of 2022 in the city of Portland, and the second in less than 48 hours, police said.
