PORTLAND, Ore. -- A First Student school bus with 32 children on board crashed into two parked cars in Northeast Portland Friday morning, badly damaging all three vehicles.
It happened about 8:30 a.m. near Northeast 57th Avenue and Thompson Street. The students on the bus were first and third graders from Rose City Park School.
Witnesses said the driver swerved to avoid a cat in the road and hit two parked cars before crashing into a tree.
Two students suffered minor injuries. One was taken to a nearby hospital.
A neighbor whose car was demolished helped students off the bus after the crash.
