Elwert Road/Kruger Road Intersection CLOSED April 13-June 30 for roundabout construction

PORTLAND, Ore — Do you know how to navigate a roundabout? Yes? OK, well you'll still want to know that a busy T-intersection near the new Sherwood High School is closed through the end of June.

Elwert Road meets Kruger Road at a T-intersection just west of OR-99W. About 7,200 cars and trucks roll through that intersection daily.  For now, that traffic will detour to 99W and Edy Road.

Did you answer no to that first question? Good of you to admit that, many wouldn't, and it does cause some confusion on Oregon roads. We featured a new roundabout in McMinnville last spring in my Driving Me Crazy segment.

So now is probably a good time review pages 34 & 35 of the Oregon Driver Manual. Here's the short version, yield upon entry, signal upon exit. They're designed to keep traffic safely...FLOWING.
