PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon's Highway 99E, including along Southwest McLoughlin Boulevard, will be intermittently closed this week for three days as Portland crews carry out tree maintenance.
The closures are from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, through Wednesday, Nov. 1, between the Bybee structure and the Tacoma ramp. Most closures will be in the southbound lanes, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Portland's Urban Forestry crews will be removing dead wood and trim limbs from red oaks along the road, its largest project of the year. Three crews will also be working on the site from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3. The project will "improve the health and longevity of the trees along this corridor and improve driver visibility," ODOT said.
