WILSONVILLE, Ore. — On the first day back to work in the new year for many people in the Portland metro, a rush hour crash temporarily closed one of the busiest roads in the area.
At around 5:15 p.m., one lane of southbound Interstate 5 was reopened two miles south of Wilsonville. All southbound lanes had been closed for more than an hour before the reopening.
Still, drivers could be delayed for an extended period of time, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). A traffic map on ODOT’s website showed traffic backed up to Tualatin.
The crash involved multiple vehicles. ODOT said crews were working to recover a jackknifed tractor trailer.
