PORTLAND, Ore. — A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed early Thursday morning in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84.
The pedestrian was struck by a sedan while crossing the freeway near Interstate 205 and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Eastbound lanes of I-84 were closed from the time of the crash, at about 1:30 a.m., until just after 5 a.m.
The driver of the sedan stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police do not believe impairment or distracted driving contributed to the crash.
