PORTLAND, Ore. — A pedestrian was struck and killed early Monday morning on Northwest 185th Avenue near Walker Road, Hillsboro police said.
The man was struck at about 4:40 a.m.
Police said the driver of the car involved in the crash stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
A crash reconstruction team arrived on scene just after 6 a.m. and stayed on the scene for two hours. The road reopened at 8 a.m.
Investigators determined the pedestrian crossed 185th Avenue westbound against a don’t walk signal as the southbound car was going through a green light. Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
The intersection, in the Tanasbourne area, sees an average of more than 32,000 vehicles daily.
