Northbound lanes of Interstate Bridge set to close Saturday evening into Sunday

ODOT is closing the northbound side of the Interstate Bridge between Oregon and Washington for repairs.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The northbound lanes of the Interstate Bridge on I-5 will close Saturday evening into Sunday morning for repairs to the bridge's deck, drawbridge signal lights, signs, and bearings.

The closure will start at 11 p.m. Saturday and last until 7 a.m. Sunday. The I-5 northbound on-ramp from Hayden Island will also be closed during these hours.

The sidewalk on the northbound side will also be closed, but the sidewalk on the southbound side will stay open.

As a detour, ODOT suggests travelers headed into Washington take Interstate 84 east to Interstate 205 north across the Glenn Jackson Bridge.

These repairs were originally scheduled to a happen earlier in July, but a shipping delay on some necessary safety equipment postponed work.
