PORTLAND, Ore. — All northbound lanes of Interstate 205 are open again at Interstate 84 after a crash involving several cars, the Oregon Department of Transportation reported.
Portland police said the closure was due to a deceased person on the roadway.
ODOT said the closure would last several hours.
Traffic was being detoured onto westbound I-84. The ramp from northbound I-205 to eastbound I-84 was also closed.
Police said it appears a woman jumped from the Northeast Halsey Street overpass and was struck by multiple vehicles.
Investigators believe she likely jumped on purpose. Her name is not being released.
This marks Portland's 5th traffic-related fatality in 2021.
