I-5 northbound reopens near La Center after crash causes miles-long backup

Washington State Trooper Will Finn tweeted that three commercial vehicles, two passenger vehicles and a truck towing a trailer were involved in the crash.

LA CENTER, Wash. — All lanes of northbound Interstate 5 have reopened north of La Center following a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday morning.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) tweeted 1:20 p.m. that all lanes had reopened. WSDOT warned drivers to still expect delays as it's going to take time to clear the nearly 10-mile backup.

Washington State Trooper Will Finn tweeted that three commercial vehicles, two passenger vehicles and a truck towing a trailer were involved in the crash near milepost 19.

It's unclear what caused the crash or if anyone was injured or killed.

Finn said at least 70 gallons of fuel spilled into the Lewis River and the Washington Department of Ecology was on the way to contain the spill.
