VANCOUVER, Wash. — Interstate 205 southbound was backed up near the State Route 14 exit for about two hours Sunday night due to police activity, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
Transportation officials said the backup started around 7 p.m. on the Washington side of the Glenn L. Jackson Memorial Bridge over the Columbia River.
All southbound lanes were blocked for about 45 minutes before one lane opened up. The freeway was cleared shortly after 9 p.m.
Clark County police dispatch told KGW that authorities initially responded to the report of a broken down vehicle. The incident was soon after determined to be a possible mental health crisis.
The Washington State Patrol responded to the scene but has not released any information at this time.
