PORTLAND, Ore. — There will be closures on the lower deck and single lanes of the upper deck of the Fremont Bridge, starting Sunday, Oct. 13 and lasting through next week and into the following weekend, due to routine bridge inspections, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) reported.

On Sunday night, starting at 10 p.m., crews will close northbound Interstate 405 on the lower deck of the Fremont Bridge. The closures will run from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day, ending Wednesday at 5 a.m. During the closures, traffic will be redirected onto U.S. 30 westbound just before the I-405 northbound split leading to the lower deck of the Fremont Bridge, ODOT said.

Here's a look at the other closures next week:

Wednesday, Oct. 16

  • Starting at 9 p.m., one lane will close on the ramp from I-5 north to the Fremont Bridge.
  • The Broadway/Williams on-ramp to I-5 will close at around midnight to accommodate fans leaving a Portland Trail Blazers preseason game.

Thursday, Oct. 17 through Sunday, Oct. 20

  • A single lane will close on Southbound I-405 on the upper deck of the Fremont Bridge, starting at the Kerby on-ramp. The closure starts at 9 p.m. Thursday and is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20.

There will also be rotating closures of the right and left lanes on I-5 north and south at the I-405/I-5 interchange starting Tuesday, Oct. 15 and ending Saturday, Oct. 19. The closures will go from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day.
