Fatal crash closes Southeast 122nd Avenue in Portland

A motorcyclist died in a crash with a car. Police closed Southeast 122nd Avenue in both directions between Stark Street and Ash Street.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A motorcyclist died in a crash with a car in Southeast Portland on Sunday afternoon, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) reported.

Police said a passenger riding on the motorcycle was also taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. They are in critical condition.

The crash happened at 2:48 p.m. near the intersection of Southeast 122nd Avenue and Stark Street.

Police closed Southeast 122nd Avenue in both directions between Stark Street and Ash Street.

Police have not reported the identities of anyone involved in the crash.

This would mark the 73rd traffic fatality in Portland in 2023, pending the report from the medical examiner.
