Stretch of Barbur Boulevard in SW Portland reopens

The Oregon Department of Transportation closed the road early Tuesday morning due to downed trees and power lines.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Southwest Barbur Boulevard is back open between Hamilton Street and Capitol Highway in Portland. The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) closed a stretch of the road early Tuesday morning due to downed trees and power lines. The ramp from Capitol Highway northbound to Barbur Boulevard was also closed, but it has reopened.

Crews with ODOT and Portland General Electric (PGE) worked to clear the road and repair the power lines. Hundreds of power outages were reported Tuesday morning.

ODOT did not immediately say whether the downed trees and power lines were weather related. Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington are under flood warnings and watches until Tuesday afternoon.
