PORTLAND, Ore. — Evander Da Silva Ferreira scored in the ninth minute of second-half stoppage time to rally the Portland Timbers to a 4-4 draw with St. Louis City on Saturday night.

Evander's equalizer came after Felipe Mora, who had two goals and an assist for the Timbers (10-9-7), was sent off for a red card in the 3rd of 15 extra minutes.

Eduard Löwen scored on a penalty kick in a three-goal first half for St. Louis City (4-10-12). Simon Becher scored and Marcel Hartel had three assists in their debuts for the club, but it wasn't enough.

Becher and Hartel teamed up for a 1-0 lead just 10 minutes into the match when Hartel fed Becher for a score.

Löwen's PK goal gave St. Louis City a two-goal lead in the 36th minute. Becher drew a foul on Portland's Miguel Araujo to earn the kick.

Portland pulled within a goal when Jonathan Rodríguez used assists from Mora and Evander to score in the 39th minute. It was the 13th goal for Rodríguez in his first season in the league. Mora earned his fifth assist and Evander notched his 14th on the score.

St. Louis City took a 3-1 lead into halftime on a goal by Cedric Teuchert in the second minute of stoppage time. It was Teuchert's first career goal in his second appearance. Hartel had an assist.

Evander added his 15th helper of the campaign in the 57th minute when Mora found the net to get the Timbers within a goal. Defender Claudio Bravo also had an assist — his second — on the score.

Nökkvi Thórisson pushed the St. Louis City advantage back to two goals one minute later with his fourth goal of the campaign. Teuchert and Hartel both had assists.

Mora drilled his 13th goal of the season, scoring unassisted in the 64th minute to cut the Timbers' deficit to 4-3.

Portland's Antony Alves Santos had his tying goal disallowed in the 83rd minute for an offside violation.

Evander's 12th netter of the campaign was unassisted.

Roman Bürki finished with seven saves in goal for St. Louis City.

Maxime Crépeau saved three shots for the Timbers.

St. Louis City entered play ahead of only the San Jose Earthquakes in the Western Conference after winning the regular-season title as an expansion team last season.

The two clubs played to a scoreless draw earlier this season in St. Louis.

Portland has gone 7-0-2 in its last nine home matches through all competitions.

The Timbers will host the Seattle Sounders on Saturday. St. Louis City returns home to play the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday.
