PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Timbers have extended the contract of midfielder Santiago Moreno through the 2026 season, the club announced Friday.
Since making his debut with the Timbers in 2021, Moreno has scored 10 goals and have had 21 assists in 78 appearances (60 starts), tallying more points than any other player in the club in that span. Moreno became the youngest player in the club's history to record double-digit goals and assists at 23 years old.
“Santi has become an influential component of our attack since joining Portland as a young player a few years ago. He has taken necessary steps in his maturation on and off the field, which has been vital for his growth,” said Timbers General Manager Ned Grabavoy. “Santi has the capability to continue to raise his level, and we’re excited to see him become an even more significant contributor with our group moving forward.”
At the international level, Moreno has earned two caps for the Colombian National Team.
