PORTLAND, Ore. — The Seattle Kraken released their broadcast schedule for the 2024 season. At least 10 regular-season games will air on KGW's main channel KGW 8 and most of the other games will air on KGW 8.2. If the team makes the playoffs, the first round of the playoffs will also air on KGW.

The first game to air on KGW will be the Oct. 17 game against the Philadelphia Flyers. Here's a look at the other games that will air on KGW this season.

  • Thursday, Oct. 17 - vs. Philadelphia Flyers, 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 31 - at Toronto Maple Leafs, 4 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 8 - vs. Vegas Golden Knights, 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 27 - vs. Anaheim Ducks, 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 6 - at New Jersey Devils, 4 p.m.

  • Friday, March 14 - vs. Utah Hockey Club, 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 12 - vs. St. Louis Blues, 7 p.m.

Games broadcast on KGW's main channel will include a half-hour pregame show, followed by the game and then a half-hour postgame show.

The majority of the rest of the Kraken's games this season — at least 68 in total — will air on KGW 8.2. That channel can be found for free over the air, on channel 308 on Comcast and on some smaller cable systems.

The Kraken also have 10 nationally televised games this season. Those games will not air on KGW or KGW 8.2.

The preseason starts Sept. 22 and the regular season begins Oct. 8 with a home match against the St. Louis Blues.

KGW announced a multi-year partnership with the Kraken in April 2024 to broadcast all non-nationally televised Kraken games during the preseason, regular season and postseason for free over the air. The games will be broadcast by KGW and fellow TEGNA stations KING 5 and KREM in Seattle and Spokane.

The Kraken are also partnering with Prime Video to stream the games for Prime members in Washington, Oregon and Alaska.

"We want fans to be able to sit down and watch the games together as a family at home and stream them on a tablet on the go," Kraken CEO Tod Leiweke said in April. "I am thrilled to have trusted partners in TEGNA and their leading local broadcast stations and Prime Video."
