PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon State wide receiver Anthony Gould, who starred at West Salem High School before his time with the Beavers, was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Saturday.

He was selected with the seventh pick of the fifth round, the 142nd overall selection in the draft.

Gould, a 5-foot-8 senior, had 44 catches for 718 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games this past season and was named honorable mention All-Pac-12 at receiver. He was also a return specialist for the Beavers. He averaged 16.1 yards on punt returns. The season before, as a junior, he was first-team All-Pac-12 as a return specialist, returning two punt returns for touchdowns, which tied for the most in the country.

NFL Analyst Lance Zierlein wrote that Gould's speed makes up for his lack of size and said he projects as an average starter eventually in the NFL. "He can step in as a catch-and-run specialist with punt return talent but has the capability to offer more in the future," he wrote.

Gould was a three-star recruit out of West Salem High School and ranked by ESPN as the No. 4 prospect in the state of Oregon after his senior season. As a senior, he had 1,009 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, rushed for 612 yards and six touchdowns and had two touchdown returns on special teams. He helped West Salem reach the second round of the 2018 state playoffs and was first-team all-state at wide receiver.

He graduated from Oregon State with a degree in business administration.
