PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon State safety Kitan Oladapo, who starred at Central Catholic High School before his time with the Beavers, was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 5th round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Saturday. He was the 34th pick, 169th overall.
Oladapo was a dynamic player for the Beavers this past season, making second-team All-Pac-12. The 6-foot-2 senior had a team-leading two interceptions and eight pass breakups. He started all 13 games and had 74 tackles, including three tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble.
NFL analyst Lance Zierlein wrote that Oladapo is "likely to come in as a backup with special teams duties but has a pretty good shot of becoming an eventual starter."
At Central Catholic, Oladapo played wide receiver and cornerback. He helped lead the Rams to the state championship game as a junior and to the state quarterfinals as a senior. His senior season, in 2017, he earned second-team All-State honors on defense.
Oladapo decided to join Oregon State as a preferred walk-on in 2018 because he said he liked the school's "engineering program and the community." He graduated in May 2023 with a degree in design and innovation management.
