No. 5 seed Gonzaga vs. No. 1 seed Purdue: How to watch Friday’s NCAA Tournament game

The Gonzaga Bulldogs vs. the Purdue Boilermakers NCAA Tournament basketball game will tip off at 4:39 p.m. on Friday, March 29.

DETROIT — The Gonzaga Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday against Purdue after destroying Kansas last Saturday. The win over Kansas extended Gonzaga’s consecutive Sweet 16 appearance streak to nine. That streak is the longest in the country.

Purdue will be by far the Zags' toughest test not only in this tournament, but they are also the toughest team Gonzaga has played in months.

Purdue advanced to the Sweet 16 after beating Grambling State and Utah State. Purdue is a #1 seed in the tournament and is the #3 overall seed in the tournament. Gonzaga is ranked as the #21 seed in the tournament.

Game time, channel, and how to watch

Here are the details for those of you wondering what channel the Gonzaga-Purdue game is on.

The #5 Gonzaga Bulldogs vs. the #1 Purdue Boilermakers NCAA Tournament basketball game will tip off at 4:39 p.m. on Friday, March 29. The game will be played at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The game will air on TBS.

Bulldogs vs Boilermakers

Friday’s game will be the fifth time Gonzaga has played Purdue. The Zags hope this round will be a little different as they have lost all four games against the Boilermakers. Most recently, Gonzaga lost to Purdue in the Maui Invitational earlier this season by a score of 73-63.

Gonzaga’s leading scorer is Graham Ike, who averages over 16 points per game. In addition to Ike, Anton Watson, Nolan Hickman and Ryan Nembhard all average double-digit points for Gonzaga.

Purdue’s top performer is Zach Edey, who averages a double-double in every game. Edey averages almost 25 points per game and over 12 rebounds per game. In addition, Edey, Braden Smith, Lance Jones and Fletcher Loyer all average double-digit points for the Boilermakers.

The Boilermakers average nearly 84 points per game while giving up just under 70 points per game. Meanwhile, the Zags average 85 points per game, while the defense gives up a hair under 69 points per game.
