PORTLAND, Ore. — Superstar point guard Damian Lillard won't be leaving the Portland Trail Blazers anytime soon.
Lillard, coming off the best season and deepest playoff run of his career, has agreed to a four-year extension worth approximately $196 million, according to multiple reports. The supermax extension will keep Lillard in Portland through the 2024-25 season.
Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports reports that the final season of Lillard's extension has a player option worth $54.3 million. The Athletic's Shams Charania first reported the news, and it was also confirmed by ESPN's Brian Windhorst.
The contract extension can't officially be signed until today at 3 p.m. PDT.
