Damian Lillard is apparently making the move to the big screen. The Blazers All-Star point guard, who is also known for his rap music, will reportedly be in Space Jam 2.
NBA reporter Shams Charania with The Athletic said Lillard is expected to have a key role in the film. Charania also said soon-to-be Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis, Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson, and WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike will be featured. The movie will star Lakers forward LeBron James.
The first Space Jam movie, starring Michael Jordan with Looney Tunes characters, was an iconic film and is still a favorite for many 90s kids. Former NBA players Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson and Shawn Bradley were featured in the first movie.
Space Jam 2 is set to be released on July 16, 2021. Filming is expected to begin this summer.
