The University of Oregon men s baseball team has gotten plenty of attention this season, ranked in the top 25, the Lady Ducks made the big news on Sunday, advancing to the NCAA Super Regional with a win over Georgia Tech.
The Ducks broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth to go up 3-1, but the Yellow Jackets rallied in the bottom of the 7th with a pair of runs to tie the game. Georgia Tech had the bases loaded with one out and a chance to win but Mikayla Endicott struck out the final two batters to force extra innings.
In the top of the 8th, Ashley Kivett drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly. Endicott then closed the door, retiring all three Tech batters for the 4-3 win.
With the win, the Lady Ducks advance to the Sweet 16 of women s softball where they will take on Missouri in the Super Regionals.
